Mission Statement
Members of the Marine Corps League join together in camaraderie and fellowship for the purpose of preserving the traditions and promoting the interests of the United States Marine Corps, banding together those who are now serving in the United States Marine Corps and those who have been honorably discharged from that service that they may effectively promote the ideals of American freedom and democracy, voluntarily aiding and rendering assistance to all Marines, FMF Corpsmen and former Marines and FMF Corpsmen and to their widows and orphans; and to perpetuate the history of the United States Marine Corps and by fitting acts to observe the anniversaries of historical occasions of particular interest to Marines.

Detahment History
In 2005 Marine Joe Mastice and a group of Marines met in Saddle River to form a Detachment of the Marine Corps League. The Detachment set up "camp" in the Saddle River Firehouse for the first two years of existence.  Since our inception, and to pay homage to one Marine who gave his life selflessly for his fellow Marines, we set out to have our name changed from Saddle River Detachment to the LCpl. Jedh C. Barker Detachment.  Today, through the kindness of his siblings, we are now and forever be known as the LCpl Jedh C. Barker Detachment. We give our solemn oath before all here assembled that we will do everything in our power to live up the privilege to connect ourselves one of our nations greatest heroes, a Recipient of the Medal of Honor, LCpl Jedh Colby Barker.
